Lau Parts Division Announces Release of First True Round Ceiling Radiation Damper UL-Approved for Wood Truss Assemblies

DAYTON, Ohio – March 16, 2009 – Lau Parts Division, the technology leader in air moving since 1928, announced the newest addition to its fire/life safety products line.  The CCDR7T is the first true round ceiling radiation damper UL-approved for wood truss assemblies. 

The CCDR7T is a true round ceiling radiation damper for use with round ceiling diffusers and grilles.  It is designed to function as a heat barrier in HVAC openings which penetrate ceilings where wood truss construction is applied.  The CCDR7T has been UL tested to provide protection in UL ceiling designs L586 & P548 without the added requirement for insulated boots, boxes or plenums. 

This true round radiation damper allows for architectural round diffusers with volume control to be used in place of square or rectangle flush mount diffusers.  Ductwork may be connected directly to the bottom side of the CCDR7T from the AHU below.  Retaining angles are utilized in lieu of steel grille flange that cover the gap between the gypsum and the CCDR7T.
